The Privacy and Views of a Villa at the Cost of a Cottage. 

Self-powered Solar Home:  The cottage is equipped with solar panels and tow Tesla Powerwall back-up batteries; we generate enough solar that we sell power back to the grid with net-metering.  Since Hurricane Irma and Maria hit in 2017, our island's power can be unreliable, and outages can last for several hours. But with our energy system, you won't feel any difference in power when an outage occurs. 

Cool Retreat:  Steady tradewinds, an easterly view and the surrounding forest make Stonegarden Cottage a comfortable tropical getaway year-round  -- cool, quiet and peaceful. After a day on blazing white sand beaches or out on the glittering sea, it is delightful to return up the mountain to your cool retreat, savor a frozen drink while enjoying the gorgeous view of Coral Bay and the BVI's from the deck.

​Jetted Hot Tub & Tiki Bar: NEW!! Relax and enjoy the serenity of Guavaberry Woods and the magical view of Coral Bay Harbor and the BVI's from our newly installed hot tub spa. Gather your clan, warm up after a swim, and enjoy the therapy jets as they work their magic to massage your stress away. Enjoy appetizers and drinks on our Tiki Bar nearby while you view reverse sunsets over the water and hear the sound of the birds chirping in our woods. This will quickly become your new happy place!

On-site Nature Trails: The best of St. John's natural beauty and astonishing biodiversity lies on-site at your doorstep. The large (2/3 acre) hillside property is an ecological wonderland that invites wandering -- beautiful hand-crafted stone paths and trails on several different levels lead you through Guavaberry Woods, where picturesque orchids, frangipani, hibiscus and bougainvillea delight the eye.  Birdwatching opportunities abound -- red-tailed hawks,  hummingbirds, and bananaquits known for their love of sugar.

Owners and Managers who Care About You: Unlike other vacation homes you may have rented online, you will be personally contacted by the owner AND the managers (pictured below) before your arrival and greeted upon arrival by an actual person (not just a call, text or email) to ensure that your vacation goes as smoothly and stress free as possible. Our managers work hard to make sure you feel welcome when you arrive at the cottage, answer your questions, and are happy to assist you during your stay should you need them.

Artistic Island Feel

This charming cottage's decor is island inspired, including a variety medias, from original acrylics, watercolor paintings and limited edition prints by Caribbean artists, to stained glass windows and whimsical metal art. The owner, Thia, is a water-colorist and stained-glass artist and her windows are on display throughout the Upper Level.

​Healthy Living

​The property can accommodate up to 6 guests, if both levels are rented. The Upper Level offers a beautiful, relaxed, and comfortable space for a couple, or a couple with two children, with a phenomenal view from the dining deck. The Lower Level is the perfect space for a second couple, grandparents or teenage child, and offers a kitchenette and separate bistro deck with water view. The two levels are connected by an outside staircase.

There is a bunk room off the living room, with it's own full bath, a bunk bed, two closets, and beautiful stained glass window. Great for kids and teens!

The deck is entirely enclosed with a gate that locks making it safe for little ones.  We care about you and your family!

We support healthy living! Soak your stress away in the jetted hot tub while enjoying our view of the BVI's and Coral Bay. Do yoga and meditation on our spacious yoga deck while the breeze cools you. We provide enough yoga mats for 4 guests to enjoy. Watch a glorious sunrise and observe the stars and the moonrise over Coral Bay Harbor from our deck.

The whole family will enjoy walkways from the front door that connect into the stone paths and nature trails of Guavaberry Woods. Take a nature walk through our 2/3 acre property on our nature trails, and enjoy our tropical fruit trees and gardens, peace and quiet that surround you on our property!

Relax knowing that we have provided you an eco-friendly, outage-free accommodation with safe drinking water and soap products for your use. Our home is equipped with solar panels and two Tesla back up batteries  so you will have power during most outages of under 24 hrs.  Our water is filtered by our UV system and drinkable from every faucet.

We constantly update and renovate as needed. Most recently, we added an outdoor jetted hot tub/spa and tiki bar.  And to make sure our guests are comfortable and safe, we installed two Tesla solar power back-up batteries, plus low-voltage and motion-detector lighting on the outdoor stairs and walks.
